The benefit bicycle must always be locked with an SSF-approved lock. Which types of locks are permitted depends on the value of the bicycle:

| Under SEK 40,000 | SSF-approved lock (folding lock, chain lock, or U-lock), or frame lock combined with an SSF-approved plug-in chain (at least 6 mm thick). |
| Over SEK 40,000 | Only an SSF-approved folding lock, chain lock, or U-lock. (A frame lock combined with a plug-in chain is not sufficient.) |
Leasing a lock: An approved bicycle lock must be leased together with the benefit bicycle as standard.
Your own lock: If the user already has an SSF-approved bicycle lock in good and secure condition, proof of purchase for the lock must be provided before the leasing agreement is activated for the insurance to apply in the event of a theft.
